Beautiful and substantial vintage green glass jar with matching lid, likely produced during the early Depression era (circa late 1920s–1930s). This piece features a notably heavy base and thick-walled construction, with visible air bubbles that suggest small-batch production typical of early Anchor Hocking, Federal Glass, or one of several Midwestern utility glassmakers of the period.
The color is a soft translucent green, and the form—rounded body with wide mouth and domed lid—suggests it may have originally served as a pantry, apothecary, or general kitchen storage jar.
Measurements:
– Height with lid: 6″
– Height without lid: 3 1/8″
– Opening: 5 1/4″
– Base: 6″
Condition: Very good vintage condition. There is a surface scratch on the underside, along with some very light water/mineral buildup at the base—commensurate with age and gentle use. Lid fits securely. No cracks or chips.
A solid, early American glass piece with beautiful handmade qualities. Please look at photos for vintage condition.
