In 2011, the esteemed Margaux winery Château Cantenac Brown introduced their first white wine. Called AltO de Cantenac Brown, the wine is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (90%) and Semillon grown in a cool vineyard with clay and calcareous soil. This displays the racy aromatics of a Sancerre Blanc, with a touch of Bordeaux opulence thanks to 100% fermentation and aging in one-year-old barrels.
Cantenac Brown’s 2015 Alto de Cantenac Brown is bright and beautifully focused, with tons of citrus, floral and mineral flavors. The finely cut, chiseled style, with blocked malo, emphasizes energy and freshness. This is very nicely done.
