DESCRIPTION

Emanuel Ungaro was a french designer who started his own house in 1965. He really hit fame in the 80s when his flamboyant and colourful designs were in synch with 80s style in general.

This dress is part of his diffusion “solo donna” line dating from the 1980s. (Although this was a diffusion line, it was still quite pricey at only 40% less than the main line). It is a prime example of 80s doing 40s.

The fabric is a lightweight woven silk with painterly roses in pink, yellow, and blue with green leaves.

The bodice is fairly fitted, and nips in at the waist (with an internal grosgrain ribbon belt) and small ruffled peplum all over.

It has Ruffle accents, Frills & ruffles and a Mini silhouette ideal for Summer Vacation

It is labelled Ungaro Solo Donna Paris, Made in Italy, and the fabric content label is missing.

CONDITIONS:

This Vintage Ungaro dress is in great condition, it is clean and ready to wear.

Just a few very faint stains on the frills as shown into the last picture;

Light lint due to nature of fabric.

It is marked size 42/8. As it was made in Italy, I assume the 42 is Italian sizing. I am not sure about the 8.
